Aviation increases more than 76,000 flights during the 30/4-1/5 holiday and the summer peak.

Vietnamese airlines have planned to increase flights on many routes to serve passengers during the 30/4-1/5 holiday and the 2025 summer peak.

To meet the demand for air transport during the 30/4-1/5 holiday and the 2025 summer peak, the leader of the Civil Aviation Authority of

Vietnam said that Vietnamese airlines have proactively prepared resources, added aircraft, and developed plans to increase flights to serve

the peak season, especially increasing the supply capacity on domestic routes.

According to statistics from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, during the peak holiday period of April 30 - May 1 on domestic routes,

Vietnamese airlines are expected to operate 7,536 flights (an average of 685 flights/day), an increase of 24% and 21% respectively;

providing about 1.5 million seats, an increase of 20% compared to the flight schedule before increasing flights and 22% compared to

the same period last year.

Of which, the largest proportion is flights to/from Ho Chi Minh City with 5,083 flights (an average of 462 flights/day), an increase of 21%

and 21% respectively; providing 1.03 million seats, an increase of 21% and 21.9% respectively.

Particularly for the route connecting Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnamese airlines are expected to operate 1,261 flights, an increase of 8%

and 16% respectively; providing 305 thousand seats, an increase of 7% and 11% respectively compared to the flight schedule before the

increase of flights and the same period in 2024.

During the peak period of Summer 2025 (from May 15 to August 15, 2025), on domestic routes, Vietnamese airlines are expected to

operate 68,558 flights (an average of 745 flights/day), an increase of 21% and 18% respectively; providing approximately 14 million seats,

an increase of 21% and 18% respectively compared to the flight schedule before the increase of flights and Summer 2024.

Specifically, flights to/from tourist destinations (Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Quy Nhon) are operated by Vietnamese airlines with more than

20,000 flights, accounting for 30% of the total number of flights, an increase of 32% and 20% respectively; providing nearly 4.1 million seats,

an increase of 30% and 21% respectively compared to the flight schedule before the increase in flights and Summer 2024.

For the main routes (Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City), airlines are expected to operate 26,800 flights (accounting for 39%), an increase

of 24% and 14% respectively; providing nearly 5.9 million seats, an increase of 22% and 14% respectively compared to the flight schedule before

the increase in flights and Summer 2024.

For the routes to/from Ho Chi Minh City alone, Vietnamese airlines plan to operate 45,000 flights with an average of 490 flights/day,

an increase of 21% and 21% respectively; providing 9.23 million seats, an increase of 18% and 23% respectively compared to the flight schedule

before the increase in flights and the same period last year.

Based on market demand and the operating plans of airlines, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has adjusted the coordination parameters

at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Accordingly, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has increased the coordination parameters to 46 flights/hour during the daytime and 36

flights/hour during the nighttime during the April 30 and May 1 holidays; from 44-46 flights/hour during the daytime and 36 flights/hour during

the nighttime during the peak summer period of 2025 and the National Day holiday of September 2.

In addition, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam is also actively implementing related contents, coordinating with the Vietnam Airports

Corporation (ACV), and Vietnamese airlines to prepare for the operation of Passenger Terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport

during the April 30-May 1 holidays./.
