Hanoi has decided that Foreign Language will be the third subject for the 10th grade entrance exam in the 2025-2026 school year
Candidates in Hanoi can choose one of five languages: English, French, German, Korean, Japanese to take the 10th grade entrance exam.
Today, the Department of Education and Training announced that the third subject in the 10th grade entrance
exam in the 2025-2026 school year is Foreign Language. Accordingly, candidates can choose one of five languages
to take the exam, including: English, French, German, Korean, Japanese.
The Foreign Language exam is multiple choice, with a duration of 60 minutes.
Currently, about 50 provinces and cities across the country have announced the third subject in this year's 10th
grade entrance exam, most localities have chosen Foreign Language.
Ha Giang is the only province that has chosen the History - Geography combination as the third subject in the
public 10th grade entrance exam. Binh Thuan also chose the History - Geography test as the third subject,
but only for the province's Ethnic Boarding High School, other schools have chosen Foreign Language.
This year's 10th grade entrance exam is the first year that candidates will take the 10th grade entrance exam
according to the new general education program. This is also the first exam to apply Circular 30 on the regulations
for admission to junior high schools and high schools recently issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.
The Circular takes effect from February 14. Accordingly, localities across the country have three forms of admission to grade 10,
including admission, entrance exam or a combination of entrance exam and admission.
With the entrance exam form, candidates will take three subjects, including two compulsory subjects, Math and Literature,
the third subject is prescribed by the Department of Education and Training, announced before March 31 every year.
This year is the first year that students take the exam according to the new program, the first year to apply the new
exam regulations, so the Prime Minister has directed localities to announce the exam plan in February
for students and schools to prepare and review./.
