According to Yonhap news agency, the South Korean fire department has just confirmed that except for the two rescued people, 

all 179 remaining people on the Jeju Air plane that crashed while landing at Muan Airport,

In a statement on the same day, Jeju Air said it would do its best to resolve the accident. 

Jeju Air CEO Kim E Bae expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, 

while affirming that the airline's top priority is to support the victims' relatives.


He clarified that although the exact cause of the accident has not been determined and Jeju Air

is still waiting for an official investigation by the authorities, "regardless of the cause, I take full responsibility as CEO."


In a press conference later, Song Kyung Hoon, head of Jeju Air's Management Support Office, 

said the airline can provide all necessary support to the victims and their families, 

thanks to the airline's $1 billion insurance package.


According to him, Jeju Air has sent about 260 employees to Muan to support the victims' families, 

while a separate investigation team will be present at the scene to help the Ministry of Land, 

Infrastructure and Transport determine the cause of the accident.


Song Kyung Hoon said that “the accident was not related to any maintenance issues” or overloaded flight schedules.


He affirmed that the airline always carefully prepares for each flight to ensure safe flights, 

as well as always adheres to the predetermined schedule for maintenance checks.


Jeju Air has sent all necessary information, including maintenance logs, to the authorities to help determine the cause.


Among the 175 passengers, two were Thai citizens. Jeju Air has informed the Thai Embassy in Korea about the 

situation and will provide further assistance as needed.


Acting President of South Korea Choi Sang Mok has declared seven days of national

mourning to honor the victims of this tragic plane crash./.
